Enhancing a Message Through Video
Posted on September 15, 2007
I have the privilege of giving a sermon at CedarRidge Church, our home fellowship, on the 30th of September. The message is simply titled "Shine" and focuses on letting God’s light shine through us. To enhance the message I developed this short music video and posted it to GodTube which is a Christian version of YouTube.
Just as I’ve been experimenting with video for the CSS tutorials, "Shine" is an example of using the same medium for a very different purpose. The video was created in Flash and took me a total of around eight hours from conception to completion. The song is from the group "The News Boys," and all images are from www.sxc.hu, used in accordance to the open licensing as stated on the website from each respective photographer.
Enjoy and let me know what you think. Have you created any videos for instruction, entertainment or other purposes?

Phil, Great work!
Producing videos are really very time consuming. I only did a couple of videos using photos taken from my vacation in Europe and USA in 2000 with my wife. Well, only when we create this kind of stuff that takes hours, we will then appreciate and realize why authors want their works to be protected by Copyright Act.
Blessings

Thanks Sam. Yep, it is a lot of time but the end result can be well worth it.
