Open IE Tab within FireFox
Posted on April 24, 2007
If you are like me, you have long preferenced FireFox for a whole host of reasons. Firefox is quicker, more secure, has tabbed function, cool skins and nice plug-ins. IE 7 has tried to catch-up but with tabs and safer browsing but it’s still hurty if you ask me. The Firefox community is on the mark in development and have come out with my favorite plug-in to date: IE Tabs in FireFox.
You can set the preferences for a site to always come up an IE tab or if you hit a site and want to view it in IE, you can click the IE icon at the bottom right and it will open a new tab in the IE version. This would allow you within one window to view a site in both FireFox and IE which is very convenient for web designers. It’s also really slick for Outlook Web Access or other frequented sites that work better in IE than Firefox. And for all those out-to-lunch designers that are not browsing their work in both browsers. (Oops got on my soap box, I’m off it now). Find this nifty plug-in at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419.
